HAIL believes housing is a social rather than a market good. We provide housing for
some of the most vulnerable groups in society including those who have lived for long
periods in hostels, temporary and insecure accommodation. Living in such insecure
accommodation can have a detrimental effect effect on the lives and health of individuals and
their families. HAIL addresses this by providing high quality housing with support.
Our support service, developed over the years is now a vital part of our service. For many, a place to live may not in itself be enough to give them complete security. HAIL provides housing with supports aimed at maximising our tenants' ability to sustain their tenancies.
The motivation of HAIL's founders was to provide housing for people with mental health needs. while this remains at the heart of HAIL's mission it is integrated with providing ordinary housing in ordinary settings and the supports necessary to keep the tenancy.
