Ballymun

In 2005, the Minister for Housing and Urban Renewal Mr. Noel Ahern, TD officially opened 39 mixed housing units at Woodhazel Ballymun. The ceremony was held at the Community Centre on Woodhazel Terrace. Dermot Bolger whose play "From these Green Heights" was premiered to rave reviews in the Axis Centre recently, marked the occasion by reading his piece "Ballymun Incantation", a celebration of the living and the dead, the past and the present of Ballymun and its people.

Designed by McCormack Jamieson Prichard, the development is part of the regeneration of Ballymun and was built by Pierce Construction in partnership with Ballymun Regeneration Ltd and the Housing Association for Integrated Living Ltd.

Capital funding amounting to €8.2 million was provided by the Department of the Environment Heritage and Local Government for the development.

In response to the demand for our supported housing service, a further 5 one bed apartments have been purchased in the general Ballymun Area.
